McPherson County Democrats plan January, 2008 meeting.

McPherson County Democrats meet January 21st , McPherson Senior Center
(located at 112 East Euclid Street), 7:30 PM.

Speaker Dr Dan Lichty will share a power point presentation of his experience climbing Mt. Kilimanjoro in East Africa.

Matthew Anderson, State Field Director will give an update for the Super Tuesday Caucus, which is scheduled for February 5th at 7PM. Kansas State Senate District 35 caucus will be held at the McPherson Senior Center.

John Patterson, Chairman

John Patterson, Chairman, co-chair of Outreach and Chair of Candidate and Committee Member Recruiting. John lives in Lindsborg, and hails from Jefferson, Iowa where he was raised on politics. He graduated from Lincoln High in Des Moines then attended Drury College and later the University of Iowa studying TV and Radio Journalism. John has worked for US Congressional campaigns in CA, KS, IA and MO. He was a volunteer for the John Edwards campaign in Iowa and later for the Barrack Obama campaign in Kansas and Colorado. He is active in voter registration drives and voter outreach campaigns. Along with his wife Paula Jaderborg Patterson, they have 3 grown children and 2 grandchildren, Katie and Ella.

Marla Patrick, Vice Chair

Marla Patrick, Vice-Chairman, co-chair of Outreach and Precinct Committeewoman. Marla is a former State Coordinator for the Kansas National Organization for Women, past President and Convener of the McPherson Co. chapter of Kansas NOW. She is a published writer. She has led voter registration drives, volunteered for numerous candidate campaigns, active with Natural Resources Defense Council and Americans United for the Separation of Church and State. In her local community she has been a Brownie Troop Leader and volunteer softball coach. Along with her husband Jeff, they have 3 children and 3 grandchildren.

Randy Conyers, Secretary

Randy Conyers, Secretary, Chair of Voter Registration and Precinct Committeeman. Randy is a field organizer for grassroots non-profit organizations working in the area of Capacity Building and Sustainability. Randy has 32 years of experience designing computer software, creating jobs and increasing profit margins. He is the past President of the McPherson Affiliate of NAMI, an advocacy group for disabilities. Randy has volunteered for numerous federal and state candidate campaigns and is a voter registration volunteer. Randy coached baseball and soccer for his 3 sons. He has 1 grandson.

Teresa Loffer, Treasurer

Teresa Loffer, Treasurer, Chair of Fund Raising and Precinct Committeewoman. Teresa is a long-time citizen of Lindsborg and life-long Democrat. She is an entrepreneur with a home care business. Her medical career consists of 8 years at Bethany Home and she is a past crew member of Lindsborg EMS. Teresa has been involved with various disability and women’s advocacy groups. She and her husband Shanley are coaches with the McPherson County Special Olympics. Teresa and Shanley have 2 children, Alyxandrea & Zachary.
